Why bother playing with PC UNIX on a CISC box when you can work
with the real thing on RISC boxes?

These are the same versions of UNIX that power the large servers in
the back-office environments. Work with HP-UX 11.x, Solaris 8/9/10
(for Sparc), IBM AIX V5.x, or SGI IRIX 6.5.2x at home or elsewhere
without the risks. These make excellent learning tools / development
boxes, and you can also set up your own UNIX network cluster or
install Oracle, etc. The uses are many!

This truly is "RISC without the RISK" ;^)

FYI: These systems originally cost anywhere between $10,000 and
$500,000! And, although they may not be considered cutting edge
today, they still easily run the latest versions of HP-UX, Solaris,
AIX, or IRIX. You can own one for just a tiny fraction of original
cost, in fact as much as 99% off the original list price!

Please also enquire about our UNIX CBTs...save time and money by
learning UNIX at home in your spare time.

Again, buy more than one system and take advantage of additional
discounts of 10-15% (as per the website). With valid student or
educator ID, you'll save even more! Ask for details.

Nor anyone elses at those prices.

$695 is about GBP350 at the current exchange rate, which will buy
you this;

And if you want a workstation, there are Blade 1000s going for less money
than that;

Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those
who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this
or that problem will never be solved by science.

It is weird, I was going to comment on that post but figured it was some
out of date robot sales spam thing. Even making a "bad deal" on ebay, those
prices are 10x too high at least.

They must be legit though, seems like most of them have Solaris 10 available
and saw these on the website...

E250 2x400 with 2GB ram and 2x18GB drives, $2195 US
E450 4x400 with 4GB ram and 2x36GB drives, $2995 US

I mean shit, last dealer I ran into with E450's, he couldn't give them away
for free unless it was a local pickup, things cost like $150-$200 to ship
and they weren't worth that to anyone.

Suppose at those prices they only need one or two sales a year to pay the
rent.
