Given that card puts out the the heat of a small nuclear power
station, in a machine that is not well cooled anyway, you might want
to think again. Also, its 2D performance is pretty useless. A VSIMM is
probably a lot better way to get 24-bit colour, if that is what you
want.

I'm fully satisfied with my TurboGX 8-bit FB concerning 2d applications.
But I don't dare to even try OpenGL on the SS20 in this configuration
and thus was looking for a decent 3d card. If there is no simple
solution, I would probably go for an Ultra/Creator pairing as they are
sometimes not that expensive on ebay.

An Ultra 1 (or 30) plus Creator will be much faster than an SS20,
especially with a recent Creator 3D frame buffer. The ultra 30
has the added advantage of being supported by Solaris 10.
