Post by Stefaan A EeckelsObviously the guy wanted more for his drives, and is trying to weasel
out of the agreement. There's not much you can do (unless you're a
lawyer and enjoy lawsuits).
The guy has already offered the drives for $350 each offline, so they
are definitely broken :-)
Care to give his eBay handle and other personalia? Then at least
we know whom to avoid.
Post by UNIX MuseumPost by Stefaan A EeckelsTell the seller you're giving negative feedback. Send a copy of the
emails to eBay. Sellers can report deadbeat bidders, and I believe
buyers can equally reports sellers who don't want to complete the deal.
After three such occurences, eBay membership is terminated.
Negative feedback has been exchanged, I sent a complaint to ebay who
didn't even bother replying.
I had the experience once with a big German seller. They advertised
a new-in-originall-box 19" rack with glass door. When it arrived it was
not new, the key didn't match so I couldn't open it, and the glass door
had morphed into a scratched metal door.
Repeated messages and calls had no effect (they did not even bother to
send a matching key), and when I finally decided to leave negative
feedback they had the gall to give me negative feedback as well. They
use the handle "arc-computer2" and currently have 16000+ feedback.
It was a similar situation to yours - I was the only bidder and the
price obviously wasn't what they'd hoped for.
Post by UNIX MuseumI then spent $30 for Squaretrade to get a "private mediator".
Squaretrade is even more useless! It is all turning into a big joke!
Buyer protection? Ebay seller rules? ebay couldn't care less, they have
been paid... ebay is worse and worse every year...
Good to know - I'll stay clear of Squaretrade.
Take care,
