Hi,

I'm looking for a Sun Sparc Ultra 60 (or something similar like the
Ultra 80). I need at least 1 ethernet card, 512 MB ram, 10GB hard disc,
keyboard and mouse. Please contact me if you have such hardware for
sale (new, used or refurbished).

Look on eBay - last time I looked for one, which was only 3 or so weeks
ago, there were loads of them. I paid £60 (UKP) for one with a single
450 MHz processor, 1 GB RAM, an 18 GB disk, floppy, low-noise-kit (not
advertised, but it had one), but no keyboard, mouse or monitor.

Ive bought stuff from him, find him really reliable, and always willing
to help.
even after the initial guarantee has run out, he will sell you second
hand spares at reasonable prices, ie i got an ultra 2 system board
shipped from around £60

He is also *VERY* expensive too !! I've bought from John before (he
lives not too far from me), but his prices are very steep compared to
eBay or other dealers.

I bought an Ultra 60 with a 450 MHz CPU a couple of weeks ago for £60
from a dealer. That had 1 GB of memory, 18 GB disk. Not bad for £60 I felt.

John has an Ultra 60 too, but even the 300 MHz processor model, with
only 256 MB of RAM is £295.

Now when you think you can buy a Sun Blade 2000 with a 74 GB disk, 1 GB

I think you must accept Itsupplies prices are well OTT. I could have two
Blade 2000s and still have quite a lot of change out of the price of a
dual processor U60 from itsupplies.

I know someone else who bought an Ultra 2 with RAM, disk and whatever
else for less than that a couple of weeks ago. I think he paid £35, but
it was certainly less than £60.

I paid £60 + shipping & VAT for a Ultra 60, single 450 MHz processor, 1
GB RAM, 18 GB disk, floppy, low-noise kit, but no CD-ROM drive from
them. That was about 3 weeks ago.

Or this one does not seem too bad with dual 450s, 512 MB with a
buy-it-now of £130, although I think my single processor one at £60 was
a better buy.

Take a look what they sell for on eBay and if you think they are
overpriced, ask the seller if they will reduce the price. They often will.
